Saleem Ahmed, Class of 2014, Featured on Pool Resources

Saleem Ahmed is a photographer, writer, and educator based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has an MFA in photography from the Hartford Art School and a BA in photojournalism from Temple University. Since 2010, he has been involved with photographic and arts-based education projects in Bolivia. He is also an occasional contributor for The Huffington Post.

In Gibson’s series, she attempts to understand the complexity of human pleasure. Through the examination of the deeply personal she works to comment on the universal. By making herself and her subject vulnerable she speaks to the contradictory nature of pleasure. Sometimes, the most pleasurable things in life are not what you’d think they’d be.

Tsar Fedorsky’s The Light Under the Door is a serious and tender investigation into the question of personal fulfillment as she reflects on the choices she’s made in her own life. The photographs reveal hope, longing, and at times perhaps even disappointment.
