Michael Schäfer

Michael Schäfer was born in Sigmaringen in 1964. He studied in Dortmund, Leipzig, Simon Fraser University –Vancouver, B.C. and is a graduate of the class of Joachim Brohm. He taught at the HGB – Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts from 1999 – 2002. Since that time he has continued his work and exhibited widely in Germany and Europe.

Inaugural MFA Thesis Exhibition - What Happens When You're Lost -

The International Limited-Residency MFA in Photography at the Hartford Art School is pleased to present its first MFA thesis show entitled: What Happens When You’re Lost
The show features the work of 15 graduating MFA candidates: Andrew Bruah, Tim Carpenter, J Carrier, Nelson Chan, J Bennett Fitts, Leo Goddard, Susan Hayre, Tricia Hoffman, Doug Lowell, Georg Parthen, Bryan Schutmaat, Robert Seto, Charlie Simokaitis, Jennifer Timmer Trail, and Carl Wooley.

Summer Sessions 2012 a BIG Success!

This summer was an amazing one for our newly designed MFA program…we were totally full up and running with 3 cohorts. We graduated our first class of 15 MFA candidates; their show was amazing as was our inaugural graduation ceremony.
