Sebastian Collett, Class of 2013 - Selected for Source-Cord Prize, Third Place

The winners of the Source-Cord Prize in 2014 are:

First Prize - Takashi Arai - from Japan with his project ‘Exposed in a Hundred Suns’
Second Prize - Andrea Gruetzner - from Germany with ‘Erbgericht’
Third Prize - Sebastian Collett from the USA with ‘Vanishing Point’

Congratulations to all three.

Three of the four judges, Kate Bush (UK), Stefanie Grebe (Germany) and John Duncan (co-editor of Source magazine) met in September, with Mariko Takeuchi (Japan) joining by skype
due to other commitments. Of course choosing the winners was a difficult task, the quality of over 920 submissions coming from 231 countries being pleasingly high. You can listen to audio of the judges discussing their thoughts
 here

We were very pleased to hear from Kate Bush that around 95% of what was submitted was new work to her.  Source have commissioned three introductory essays about the winners' submissions to go with publication of their full projects in the online and print magazines.
